Q: Why can't the board approve my inspection action item when it reaches the Board Approval step?

A: This occurs when the inspection action type doesn't have the Board role (or equivalent board role) assigned as the Administrator Role.

To resolve this issue:

1. Navigate to Settings > Action Types/Steps
2. Locate your inspection action type (commonly named "Violation Inspection (Board Review)" or similar)
3. Click Edit
4. Select Board (or your board-equivalent role) from the Administrator Role dropdown
5. Click Update

Once configured, inspections at the Board Review step will display a Review Complete button in Board Actions > Inspections. Board members can click this button after reviewing the inspection to advance it to the next step.
