Early Access: If your account looks different from what's shown here, don't worry! This update is rolling out gradually and will be available to you soon.
The Violations page in Board Actions shows every violation action item for the association, organized into tabs so board members can find items awaiting their decision, review everything still open, or look back at closed items. From here, board members approve or decline violations and message homeowners about them.

Reach the Violations Page
Board members click Violations in the Board Actions menu to open the Violations page.
The Violations Tabs
The Violations page has three tabs:
- My Items: Violations at a step assigned to your role, awaiting your decision.
- Open: Every open violation for the association, regardless of who it's assigned to.
- Closed: Violations that have finished their workflow.
The page opens to My Items or Open depending on whether you currently have violations awaiting your decision.
The Violations Table
Each tab shows a table of violations with columns for step, homeowner, property address, violation type, description, and follow-up date. Click a column header to sort, or use the column filters to narrow the list. Violations with attachments show a link in the Attachment column.
View a Violation
Click a violation, or click View, to open its detail page. The detail page shows the violation's step, description, and any attachments, along with the message thread between the board and the homeowner.
Approve or Decline a Violation
Violations that have reached a step requiring board input show Approve and Decline buttons, both in the table and on the violation's detail page.
- Click Approve or Decline on the violation.
The Approve Violation or Decline Violation screen opens. - Select the Next Step.
- (Optional) Enter a message and add attachments.
- Click Update.
Note: Not every violation on the Violations page needs board input. Approve and Decline only appear for violations at a step assigned to your role.
Message a Homeowner About a Violation
Click Message on a violation to send the homeowner a message without changing the violation's step. Select recipients, enter a message, mark it High Importance if needed, add attachments, and click Send Message.
Export the Violations List
Click Export to download the current tab's violations to a spreadsheet.
FAQ
Q: Where do these violations come from?
A: Violations most often reach this page after a board member completes an inspection review. For more information, see the "Vantaca Home: Boards - Violation Inspection Review" article.
Q: Why don't I see Approve and Decline buttons on a violation in the Open tab?
A: The Open tab includes every open violation for the association, not just the ones assigned to your role. Approve and Decline only appear when the violation is at a step assigned to you; you can still message the homeowner about it either way.
