Question: "I started an ownership transfer action type, but when I try to complete it, the ownership will not actually transfer over to the new owner. What is going wrong?"
Answer:
This type of problem can happen if you navigate away from the action item while you're in the midst of transferring ownership. Once the transfer button is pressed on the previous owner, Vantaca places that day's date into the Previous Owner field.
If you leave the screen in which you're processing the transfer and try to come back to it, that date will still be present in the previous owner's information. Once a date is placed in that field, Vantaca will not process a transfer because it doesn't see that owner as having current ownership to be transferred to someone else.
The way to fix this is to go to Homeowners > Homeowner List and select the Previous Owners Only checkbox
Select Edit for the owner you're trying to process the transfer on and remove the date from that Previous Owner field.
Once you've removed that date, you can navigate back to that owner's action items and start the Ownership Transfer process again by clicking on the Transfer button in the Action Center.
Now you can get back to transferring ownership in Vantaca like a pro!
Note: If "null" appears next to the Select New Owner button when attempting to commit an ownership transfer, log out of Vantaca and log back in. This typically occurs due to a prolonged session in Vantaca without logging out. Once logged back in, you can then resume the ownership transfer process by creating the new owner (first ensure they are not present) and complete the transfer as intended.
