Before You Start
- Role Security: Confirm your role has the Community Feed permission under Settings > Roles. Viewing the Community Feed settings page, posting or editing content, and archiving posts are controlled by separate permission levels, so your access may be limited depending on your role.
Turning On Community Feed
Vantaca turns on Community Feed for your management company as part of the gradual rollout. After it is available to your company, you control which associations show it to residents.
- Navigate to Settings > Community Feed.
- On the Per-association settings tab, find the association you want to turn it on for.
- Select the Enable Community Feed checkbox for that association.
After you enable Community Feed for an association, residents on that association see Community Feed in their left navigation menu and on their dashboard.
Note: If you do not see Community Feed under Settings, either this update has not reached your company yet, or your role does not have the Community Feed permission under Settings > Roles. Contact Vantaca support if you believe you should have access.
Posting to the Community Feed
You can post to an association's Community Feed from the Per-association settings tab.
- Navigate to Settings > Community Feed.
- On the Per-association settings tab, click New Post next to the association you want to post to.
- Provide the following information:
- Title (required): A short title for the post.
- Body (required): The content of the post. Use the toolbar to add headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and bulleted or numbered lists.
- Images (optional): Upload one or more images. Images only; video is not yet supported.
- Citations (optional): Click Add Citation and enter a label and URL for each source you want to cite. Citations display to residents as clickable pills below the post.
- Click Publish post.
The post appears immediately at the top of the feed for that association.
Note: Posts display your community or management company brand as the author. Vantaca Home does not show the individual staff member who wrote the post.
Note: New Post creates a manual post that you write and publish yourself. Your Community Feed may also include posts that Vantaca's content agents generate automatically, such as seasonal reminders, community events, and operational updates. For more information, see Can Vantaca automatically add posts to my Community Feed? in the FAQ.
Managing and Archiving Posts
Use the Posts tab to review and manage every post across your associations.
- Navigate to Settings > Community Feed.
- Click the Posts tab.
- Review the post list, which shows the title, association, status, published date, scheduled date, last modified date, and source (Manual or Agent) for each post.
From this tab, you can:
- Edit: Click Edit to reopen the post and update the title, body, images, or citations.
- Archive: Click Archive to remove a post from the resident feed. Archiving cannot be undone.
Managing Agent Settings
In addition to the posts you write yourself, Vantaca operates automatic content agents that can post to your Community Feed, such as seasonal reminders, community events, and operational updates. Use Agent Settings to turn individual agents on or off, adjust their posting schedule, and set your association's brand voice.
- Navigate to Settings > Community Feed.
- On the Per-association settings tab, click Agent Settings next to the association you want to configure.
Each agent in the list shows its content type and how Vantaca handles its posts before they publish: Auto-publish, Needs light review, or Needs approval. For each agent, you can:
- Turn the agent on or off: Use the switch next to the agent.
- Set how often it posts: Select a cadence of Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Event-driven.
- Set its schedule: Click the arrow next to the agent to expand it, then set the day, post time, and time zone. Monthly and Quarterly agents also let you choose which week of the month they post.
Click Save next to an agent to save your changes to it.
Under Voice & tone, enter a Brand voice description that Vantaca's agents use to guide their writing, for example, "Warm, upbeat, and concise, like a neighbor sharing helpful news." Click Save voice & tone to save it.
Note: The model each agent uses, along with its word count and other technical details, is set by Vantaca and is not configurable.
Note: If you have not customized any settings for an association, Vantaca uses its recommended defaults. Click Reset to Vantaca defaults to clear your customizations and return to those defaults. This cannot be undone.
How Residents View the Community Feed
Once Community Feed is turned on for an association, residents can view it two ways:
- By clicking Community Feed in their left navigation menu.
- By clicking View all posts in the Recent Posts widget on their Home dashboard, which shows their most recent posts.
In the feed, residents see your posts in order with the newest post first, and can scroll to load older posts. Residents cannot comment, reply, or send direct messages within the feed. If you have not posted anything yet for an association, residents see a message letting them know there is nothing to show yet. Posts that Vantaca's content agents generate automatically display a Verified Safe badge to residents.
FAQ
Q: Can Vantaca automatically add posts to my Community Feed?
A: Yes. In addition to the posts you write yourself, Vantaca operates content agents that can automatically generate posts for your community, such as seasonal reminders, community events, and operational updates. These posts display a Verified Safe badge to residents and appear in the Posts tab with Agent listed under Source, so you can tell them apart from your own posts. You can edit or archive an agent-generated post the same way as a manual one, and you can turn individual agents on or off from Agent Settings.
Q: Can board members post to the Community Feed?
A: Not yet. Board member posting is planned for a future release.
Q: Can I schedule a post for later or add video?
A: Not yet. Scheduling and video are planned for a future release. You can currently publish a post immediately with text, images, and citations.
Q: Can I post to more than one association at a time?
A: No. Each post targets a single association. Post to additional associations individually from the Per-association settings tab.
