Question: I noticed a missing or incorrect item on a homeowner recently added to Vantaca. Is there a way to edit Homeowner Beginning Balances?
Answer: Go to the Homeowners > Homeowner list and select your owner. To edit a homeowner's initial balance go to that specific homeowner's ledger under Homeowners > Ledger.
Under the Summary tab select Edit Balance History.
From the Summary tab you can either delete an initial balance or add an initial balance by selecting New History Item. Be sure to save changes after you are finished editing and you should see the record in the top-left of the page.
Note: New history items created from the Summary tab's Edit Balance History button are not included in the Homeowner's Transaction tab. To create a visible homeowner transaction record, use the Transaction tab's Edit History button. Keep in mind that a record created from the transaction tab will NEVER impact the homeowner's balance.
Next, go to the Transactions tab and click Edit History.
In this window you will make the same changes that were made in the Summary tab. Once again remember to save changes. Note: Balances that were imported by Vantaca that were manually deleted from the Summary tab will automatically delete from the Transactions tab.
**Note - when an initial balance is altered/edited, A GL entry may need to be made to reflect the change on the book side.

Will charges and/or credits entered this way be reflected on the AR Aging and Prepaid Homeowner reports?
Connor, yes! History items on the Summary Tab are only shown on the AR/Prepaid reports. Keep in mind that since these items don't have an GL impact themselves, if the items are not matched with your GL Beginning balances, then you'll show an Out of Balance on your Home > Financial Summary page.
