Summary:
As of April 7, 2022 we are changing the way HTML emails are viewed within Vantaca. On any action item notes with HTML you can click on the 'Formatted Note' to view the HTML formatting. This article will provide the answers to some of your Frequently Asked Questions about this change.
Question: Will this really improve system performance?
Answer: Yes, HTML action item notes currently account for 50% of all database storage in our average client. Moving the HTML to the linked note places it in blob storage which allows your database to scale storage and performance more easily as you accumulate more data in your database over time.
Question: Will this show in the portal?
Answer: Yes, ‘formatted note’ will show everywhere that XN notes show.
Question: When there is an ‘Email’ link and a ‘Formatted Note’ link, will they show the same information?
Answer: It depends, the ‘Formatted Note’ link only shows the formatting on what was typed into the note, whereas the Email link will show the full email including any templated text. The email link will include any HTML formatting as well.
Question: If there is an embedded image or screenshot that was in the note, how can we see it?
Answer: Images are a part of HTML formatting. You will need to click ‘Formatted Note’ to see any images embedded in the note.
Question: What is HTML? What does this impact?
Answer: HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language and is a code that is used to create the content and structure on a web page.
