Import Templates

Objective: This article provides an overview of Vantaca import types as well as templates for  various import types. 

Imports are a great way to get data into your Vantaca database quickly. Using imports, you can enter budget information, create new homeowners, prepare your 1099s, and get data into many other areas of your database.  This article briefly outlines the different types of imports and provides templates to make your importing process as smooth as possible.

A few general tips for imports:

1. The actual order of the columns in the import do not matter, as the Vantaca system reads the column header to determine what kind of column it is reading. Feel free to rearrange the columns if it is easier for you!
2. Make sure that you do not have more than one column with the same header name, as it will cause your import to fail.
3. When you have a monetary value, some Excel formats can cause it to not read properly into our system. To ensure your money value is read correctly, we recommend changing the cell's format to "General" or "Number" with negative values being preceded by a - sign.

1099 Balances
Purpose: Add 1099 data from previous software into Vantaca for 1099 reporting

Import Template

Association Tax ID
Purpose: Import association's state and federal tax ID data.

Import Template

Bank Accounts
Purpose: Add bank accounts to your associations

Import Template

Bank Account Beginning Balances
Purpose: Import beginning balances for your bank accounts

Import Template

Bank Outstanding Items
Purpose: Add bank register items to an existing bank account, intended for adding items from previous software

Budget (New Association Only)
Purpose: Add a budget to a single association as well as creates the GL accounts to go with that budget

Payment Allocation via Post Deposit
Purpose: Set up a specialized payment allocation for a Post Deposit from the Reconciliation screen
